At Hitachi Vantara Federal, our people make us great. We recently sat down with Justine Brown, a Renewals Manager for Hitachi Vantara Federal, for her a look at her role, experience at Hitachi Vantara Federal, and advice for fellow professionals in the technology industry.
What’s your background and role within Hitachi Vantara Federal?
I have worked at Hitachi Vantara Federal for the past three years as part of the company’s Renewals team. In my role I am responsible for managing Hitachi Vantara Federal’s product maintenance services portfolio as it pertains to renewed opportunities.
How do you recharge or find inspiration outside of work?
Outside of work, I love to cook – but baking is my passion! Nothing beats a quiet activity that comes with a delicious treat at the end. Colleagues would likely be surprised to learn that I’m also a part time Lego builder (currently working on the flower series).
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to work in the industry? What have been the greatest lessons learned so far in your career?
The technology industry is fast-paced and dynamic, and the best path to success is to continually invest in yourself and your education. Be curious and approach every day as a learning opportunity!
That being said, one of the greatest lessons I have learned is that sometimes the best thing you can do is take time to slow down. Accuracy and quality are just as important as speed – especially when your efforts are supporting mission-critical data, applications, and infrastructure.
Can you share a memorable project or accomplishment that you’ve had since joining the organization? How do you think this work contributed to Hitachi Vantara Federal’s mission?
I recently had the wonderful opportunity to cross-train and temporarily support Hitachi Vantara Federal’s Accounting team. I loved the chance to collaborate with and learn from another department within the organization and I feel that I grew as a professional as a result.
