Soft skills are an important part of data scientist jobs. From business value to interpersonal communication, many nontechnical skills are important to data science projects.
Hitachi Vantara Federal Data Intelligence Lead Bobby Rountree recently met with Maria Korolov from TechTarget’s SearchBusiness Analytics to discuss the most important soft skills for current and prospective data scientists.
Inside Korolov’s post-interview article, Rountree touches on the importance of developing a business acumen to better identify with and understand one’s organizational or client needs: “Data scientists need to understand what makes sense in their particular industry, in their company and even in a specific department or job function. They also need to be able to ask the right questions to find out exactly what the customers or users want.”
