David Turner, President, Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of the Board
David Turner is president and chief executive officer for Hitachi Vantara Federal, and serves as chairman on the company’s Board of Directors. A 20-year public sector industry veteran, David has a reputation for revitalizing companies to deliver increased value by driving operational excellence and championing business transformation. Responsible for formulating and executing long-term growth strategies David is also focused on transforming Hitachi Vantara Federal into a leading, full-service next-generation data services company.
Prior to joining Hitachi Vantara Federal, David served as president for the Applied Technology & Operational Services Group at Akima, a leading holding company that supports a diverse portfolio of Federal and Commercial service providers. While there, he held responsibility for managing five companies who served Federal defense and civilian clients with mission critical solutions and managed the company’s business strategy. Prior to Akima he served as senior vice president at Affiliated Computer Services. Earlier in his career he held roles with American Management Systems as senior principal, and director at McDonald Bradley (now ManTech International Corporation).
David earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and earned a Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from the University of Michigan. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Highland School and is an active member in its mission of preparing students for life-long success.
Mark Serway, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Operations
Mark is chief financial officer and vice president of operations for Hitachi Vantara Federal. Mark plays a key role on the executive leadership team overseeing financial and business operations including corporate controllership, treasury, tax, IT, and customer support services. Serway brings over 25 years’ experience to HDS Federal, including an extensive background in both the government and commercial sectors leading successful enterprise transformational change, maximizing profits and positioning organizations for sustainable growth. He is expert in transforming and building world-class organizations, troubleshooting organizational and program inefficiencies, implementing process improvement initiatives, strengthening internal controls, selecting and implementing ERP systems and SaaS solutions, enhancing financial transparency company-wide and translating numbers into actionable plans.
Prior to joining Hitachi Vantara Federal, Mark served as chief financial officer for Govplace, Inc., a government technology solutions provider. Prior to this, Mark served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of Akima for over five years, a $1.1B Government IT service and product company and played an instrumental role in spearheading the development of all long-term and short-term business plans among Akima’s family of companies. Mark has held progressively senior positions with Paradigm Solutions, Lockheed Martin IT, Getronics Government Solutions, Babcock & Wilcox and Boeing Computer Services.
He received his M.B.A. in Finance from Averett University and B.B.A. in Management Information Systems from James Madison University. He is a member of CFO Alliance, Financial Executives International (FEI), and the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC). Mark was a finalist for the Washington Business Journal’s “CFO of the Year” award and was recently appointed to the Board of Advisors for Gateway Global Delivery in Pittsburg, PA.
David Funk, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
David Funk is general counsel and corporate secretary for Hitachi Vantara Federal. Known for his well-balanced combination of legal and business acumen, David possesses 15 years of legal experience in the Federal and commercial sectors. Responsible for the company’s legal, contractual and industrial security compliance, David is passionate about creating a business-partner culture within the legal and contracts functions, and instilling an ethos of compliance that increases contractual and legal transparency for key stakeholders.
Prior to joining Hitachi Vantara Federal, David served as general counsel and director of contracts for Govplace, Inc., an IT government technology integrator. Earlier in his career he held senior roles within the U.S. Federal Government including attorney advisor with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Senior Advisor with the U.S. Department of State.
David earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Pennsylvania State University. Between college and law school, David served as a Signals Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Amy Miller (A.M.) Feehery, Vice President of Sales
Amy Miller Feehery is vice president of sales for Hitachi Vantara Federal. With 15 years of industry experience leading teams in requirements definition and providing innovative solutions to government clients, she is known for her deep expertise in developing strong customer relationships and implementing customer-centric strategies. Responsible for the company’s sales performance and marketing, Amy Miller also spearheads efforts to expand the company’s market presence and leadership position in the Federal IT arena.
Prior to joining Hitachi Vantara Federal, Amy Miller held leadership positions at STS International, Harris Corporation, and Exelis, Inc.
Amy Miller earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is currently an ambassador for the Navy SEAL Foundation. She has served on numerous not-for-profit boards and participated as both a board member and member of defense industry and trade associations.
